Detailed description
The GPSMAP 1223 and GPSMAP 1623 series is designed as a high-performance networked helm centre. A bright IPS touchscreen, fast processor and slim edge-to-edge glass design provide a clear view of charts, sonar, radar, cameras and engine information. The display can be bail- or flush-mounted, while the 1623 also supports flat glass-bridge installation.
The non-sonar base version suits systems where sonar is supplied by a network module or is not required. The xsv version adds built-in traditional CHIRP, ClearVü and SideVü scanning. Panoptix and LiveScope operate with a compatible transducer. The GPSMAP 1223 radar package adds a GMR 18 HD3 radome; radar is not included with other configurations.
GPS, navigation and mapping
Garmin Navionics+ and Garmin Navionics Vision+ support allows detailed charts to be selected for the operating area. The ActiveCaptain app manages charts, software updates, smart notifications and user data. Quickdraw Contours creates personal depth maps, and multi-band satellite reception improves positioning accuracy.
Connectivity and system expansion
Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183 and J1939 integrate radar, autopilot, AIS, VHF radio, cameras, instruments and compatible engine data. OneHelm brings compatible third-party systems and digital switching to the display. A compatible Force trolling motor can be controlled from the chartplotter and used to follow routes or anchor points.
