This wireless castable sonar turns a smartphone or tablet into a fishfinder. STRIKER Cast sends a clear sonar image to the STRIKER Cast app and is suitable for fishing from shore, docks, small boats or kayaks. The GPS version also supports saved fishing spots and Quickdraw Contours depth maps.

Detailed description

STRIKER Cast is a durable castable sonar that turns a compatible Apple or Android phone or tablet into a fishfinder display. Cast the unit into the fishing area and sonar data is transmitted wirelessly to the free STRIKER Cast app. It is practical for fishing from shore, docks, bridges, kayaks and small boats because no permanently installed display or transom transducer is required.

The app presents water depth, water temperature, bottom shape, vegetation and fish moving through the sonar beam. The user can select a traditional 2D sonar view, simplified fish symbols or a flasher view for ice and vertical fishing. Automatic sensitivity and range settings make setup quick, while experienced users can adjust the display to suit their fishing method.

GPS, navigation and mapping

The GPS version creates Quickdraw Contours maps with 0.3-metre contours, marks fishing locations and records movement. This is useful for mapping small lakes, river sections or near-shore areas where detailed charts are unavailable. The non-GPS model provides the same wireless sonar image but does not add location-based mapping or waypoints.

Installation and operating environment

In suitable conditions the wireless range is up to approximately 60 metres. The rechargeable battery operates for more than ten hours, and automatic power control helps conserve energy: the unit activates in water and switches off after removal. The supplied 6-metre tether and carrying bag support secure use and transport.
